While serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney for St. Mary's County Kevin was in the courtroom regularly prosecuting impaired driving case. Kevin worked closely with the various federal state and local law enforcement agencies including Maryland State Police, Natural Resources Police, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, St Mary’s College Public Safety and Patuxent River Naval Station Police to ensure that impaired drivers were effectively and efficiently brought to justice. His work as a prosecutor and the relationships forged allowed Kevin to gain valuable insights into the legal processes and challenges associated with these cases. Since 2008, he has been successfully defending clients accused of DWI offenses, bringing his wealth of knowledge and expertise gained from his time as a prosecutor to his practice.
Kevin has completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST’s) Student course, as well as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Instructor Development Course “the SFST Instructor Training School” through NHTSA. Kevin’s regularly attends trainings and continuing legal education classes to equip him with the tools necessary to understand of the locate problem areas during the Traffic stop, the SFST’s and the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) 12 step DRE Protocol.
